Whistling

I can't whistle . . .  well, I can't whistle well at all. I can made some sound, but it sounds absolutely horrible. How does one whistle well? Elina is like a pro. She can whistle while breathing in and out! It's quite amazing.

Once I told my roommates I couldn't whistle I discovered that they all could. Even my nine-year-old sister can whistle! Ridiculous. Why is whistling so important you might ask? Well it seems that every new song I like has whistling in it.

For example:

Man I wish I could whistle.

I'm really bad at titles . . .

Apparently being engaged is great. Josh (Rachel's fiance) tells me so all the time.  Yesterday in church he was like, "Michelle, what guys do you think are cute? Give me three names or faces, and I'll go talk to them after." I was like, no way am I telling you who I think is cute! Apparently he just wants everyone else to be as happy as him and Rachel are, which is great. But, I highly doubt that him going and telling some guy to ask me out would go over super well. He also wants to set me up with a friend of his. He kept going on and on about how he's buff, the things he likes to do, and how his last girlfriend lived in Provo and he drove to see her all the time.  However, he also told me that he knows the Church is true, but doesn't take it super seriously, so he didn't go on a mission. Why would I want to date someone who doesn't take the church super seriously, even if they do know it's true? The Church should be the most important thing in someone's life if they truly believe in it. It's like the last guy I went on a date with - our priorities aren't anywhere in the same place. This guy just added me on facebook, which I think is a little weird. I don't know him, and I'm not really interested. I'm pretty sure Josh isn't super good at this whole 'setting people up' thing. He really shouldn't try to be Yenta.

Yesterday I was called to be an FHE group leader in my ward. I laughed a little on the inside, because I've been in FHE for the past two years. At least I know how to get it done. The kid that's my partner seems pretty cool too. Our group is gonna rock, just sayin' :)

This past weekend was pretty fun. Wednesday night Daniel, Caleb and Myles randomly showed up at our house. We hung out, laughed at everything, and took pictures of people just shaking their face, which are so ugly! Paula, Stacy and I then had an 80's dance party in my room :)

We then ran over to Mark's house and watched the second episode of Psych. Psych is probably my favorite TV show in the history of ever. Seriously, if you haven't seen it, go watch it! Thursday night we went bowling for free, courtesy of Stacey who gets free passes. I bowled a 98 for a lovely 2nd place finish :) Rachelle came up to visit which was way fun. I miss her! Friday night we went up the canyon and had a campfire complete with hot dogs, s'mores, and cobbler.  I washed my hair three times in the shower, and it still smelled like smoke. Lame. Saturday I helped Mark and Paula sew a ginormous screen to watch an outside movie on. I'm talking extremely huge here. It was made from 7 sheets and it took up the entire front of Mark's apartment. It was pretty epic.

We watched X-Men: First Class, which was really good. I've only seen a couple parts of the last one, so it was nice to watch the first one. It ended up getting a bit cold, but it was definitely worth it. Sunday was pretty chill. Church was really, really good. There weren't a whole ton of people there due to fall break, but it was still super good. After church Elina and I went to my house and had dinner. It's amazing how much more you appreciate good food after moving out, especially when you don't have to make it. We all then went to Ward Prayer, and then played games at our apartment. Somehow our apartment became the ward game place, with Paula as its leader :) I quite enjoy it. We don't actually have to go any where, which is fabulous. The people in our ward are way fun, and I'm really enjoying getting to know them.

The decorations in our living room are almost finished! I'm quite excited at it :) I only have one wall to go. Our big collage actually turned out exactly how I wanted it to. I remember seeing something like it on a blog somewhere, and was impressed that we got it to look just as good.

I should probably take a better picture without the glare but this works for now. Aren't we so cute? I like us :)

Let's Run Away to an Island . . .

Originally I was going to write this post last night, but I was way too tired. Hopefully I can remember everything I wanted to write then.

Can I just start off by saying that dating sucks? It really does. I know that when you're married you'll still have problems in your life and tons of stress that you don't have when you're single, but at least you know you're gonna be with that person forever.

I'm pretty sure guys in Cache Valley don't date. Besides the date I went on on Tuesday (Which there isn't gonna be a second date. Is it horrible that I want to have the same goals in life? If you're not going to school, I'm pretty sure it's not gonna work), the last date I went on was in March. I've had a close guy friend tell me that if girls don't go on dates it's their own fault. How in the world is it our fault? Yes, some girls don't date because they're antisocial and don't talk to guys, or they don't act interested at all. However, I don't think I'm any of those things. I attend all my ward activities, I talk to people, and I think I'm a fairly friendly person. My roommate Paula also has the same problem. She's way more friendly and outgoing than I am, I swear she knows everyone, and she still doesn't get asked on dates either. It's also frustrating being a girl, I feel like we don't have much control over the situation. If a guy wants to go on a date he just goes and asks someone. We just sit and wait. Lame. Honestly, I have no idea how people get married. I'm pretty sure it's a miracle.

Speaking of marriage, the above mentioned guy friend has told me a couple times that he doesn't know why me and my roommates aren't married. I also had a guy at the bridal fair say I'm too cute not to get married. So, apparently I'm pretty enough, so it must just be my personality .... right. None of us are married because guys don't ask us on dates. There are some girls that go on dates all the time, and there are others that don't ever go.  If anyone knows why guys are idiots, please tell me. I'd love to know.

So, I've pretty much decided that I should never hold hands with a guy . . . ever. Somehow it just never goes well for me - I think I'm cursed. The first guy I held hands with turned into a jerk shortly after. The next guy I held hands with basically ignored me and didn't talk to me at all after. And this last one, well I'm not really sure. We're friends, and that's basically all I know. Sometimes he acts like he wants more, and then he doesn't. I've tried being patient and seeing what he wants, but I'm ready to just be done with guys forever.

Maybe I should run away to our Island and bring Steph, Elina, Heidi, Kaylee, Paula, Rachelle, Stacy and Stacey. Sadly Rachel can't come because she went and got engaged on us.

Rip Jelly Shoes

Did you ever have Jelly shoes as a child? I sure did, and they were basically my favorite things ever. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found some this spring at Smith's. They were clear so they matched everything and you could see your toenails through them. Sadly they broke today :( I had just walked out the door to go back to work, and the right one ripped. Tragic, I know.

Dear Boys Part 2

It's been a while since I did the first one of these, so I thought I'd do another, shorter one for fun :)

Button

Dear Plaid,
I love you, but if you hurt my roommate I'll be forced to punch you.
Be careful,
Michelle

Dear BF,
You are the most confusing boy I've ever met. Would you please figure out what you want and let me know? It would be much appreciated.
Losing Patience,
Michelle

Dear R,
You're a great guy, but I'm not interested. Sorry!
Cordially,
Michelle

Dear Ward Boy,
You're rather attractive, but somehow I don't think you're my type.
Sincerely,
Michelle

Dear Tall Boy,
You should ask my roommate out. Now, for reals.
Love,
Michelle

Updates Galore!

So, this post will be full of many exciting updates. Well, at least I hope you find them exciting :)

Rachel's engaged!!! Crazy, I know. I actually helped Josh propose the weekend before conference. It was gorgeous and adorable.  She's getting married December 28, which is so soon! I love her to death and am so excited for her :)

I have a new job! My old job ended last week (they decided if you're related to management you can't work there anymore - boo!) but, conveniently I just got a full time, yay! So far everyone's been extremely nice and very friendly and helpful. It's a ton of new information all at once, but it's starting to make sense. I also work with several girls who are a lot closer to my age, which is super fun.

In other news, Friday was a fabulous day :) It included waffles 4 wheeling, pool, stargazing, and hand holding . . . :D

General Conference this past weekend was amazing as usual. I seriously love being able to hear from our Prophet and Apostles. It went by so incredibly fast!

Pretty sure that's all that I've been up to as of late . . . at least that's important or exciting :)

So this is a little old . . .

Note: I started writing this about two weeks ago at work and never posted it . . . . my bad! This is a little out of date, so I'll write another hopefully today :)
I am a horrible blogger, I know. I've had things to blog about, but I just haven't been motivated to actually do it . . . .
So I'm pretty much addicted to pintrest, like way bad. It's horrible, but aweseome at the same time. I have so many ideas, just not the time, money, or people to do them with. Someday . . .

Loved this quote I found on Pintrest:
Atheism: the belief that there was nothing and nothinghappened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs. Makes perfect sense.
I saw that and just had to laugh :)
Someone just called trying to sell me a subscription to the Salt Lake Tribune. I tried telling them this was a business and we didn't want it, but they wouldn't take no. I finally transferred them to my boss who was on a call so they got a machine, ha :)

So my roommate Rachel is practically engaged. They've been ring shopping twice and have a wedding date already. She'll be the first of any of my roommates to get married, so it's all a bit strange. Rachel's been my only constant roommate all three years. I love her to death, and I'll miss her tons, but I suppose getting married is a pretty good thing to do.

I've recently discovered the cutest blog ever. It's called Young People in Love, and everything about it is adorable. If you want some cuteness in your day, go read it :)

Since I've been on the phones all week at work, I've had plenty of time to surf the web, namely pintrest. I'm quite obsessed, it's probably not good. But, I have so many good ideas it's insane.

I finished the curtains for our kitchen, and I must say they're pretty great. I'll have to post a picture when I get home.

This week has been pretty chill at our house, which is really nice. Wednesday night we went over to Mark's house and just talked. Paula, Mark and I sat on their deck and talked under the stars, which was so fun. I love having good conversations, they're seriously the best. Last night was so random, but so much fun. First we piled Daniel, Caleb, Andrew, Rachel, Mark and me into Daniel's car and then went through a car wash. The whole thing was just hilarious. We then went to Rumbi's for dinner, which with our coupon ended up being about $3 a person - win. After that we took Rachel and Andrew home and picked up Paula. We then all got into Mark's car and then went to a different car wash. We live an exciting life I tell you ;) We blasted music and had a dance party in the car wash. It was pretty sweet. We then all went to our house and played settlers of Catan. Random, like I said, but strangely awesome.

I had a job interview today, with a second one on Monday. We'll see how that goes.
