Dear Boys Part 2

It's been a while since I did the first one of these, so I thought I'd do another, shorter one for fun :)

Button

Dear Plaid,
I love you, but if you hurt my roommate I'll be forced to punch you.
Be careful,
Michelle

Dear BF,
You are the most confusing boy I've ever met. Would you please figure out what you want and let me know? It would be much appreciated.
Losing Patience,
Michelle

Dear R,
You're a great guy, but I'm not interested. Sorry!
Cordially,
Michelle

Dear Ward Boy,
You're rather attractive, but somehow I don't think you're my type.
Sincerely,
Michelle

Dear Tall Boy,
You should ask my roommate out. Now, for reals.
Love,
Michelle

Me Right Now

My friend Kaylee just did a blog post called Me Right Now. Her's is fabulous, and you can read it here. It's a cute/creative way to vent a little :)

Things that annoy me:
  • Boys
  • The internet not working in my room
  • Getting wet feet walking to work. What happened to fall?
  • Somehow always losing my phone
  • Chipping nail polish after a day
Things that have made me happy:
  • Buying new songs and listening to them on repeat
  • M&Ms
  • Getting a letter from Jordan
  • How friendly everyone at my new office is
  • Late night chats with my roommates
  • Reading people’s blogs
  • Random parties for fun
  • My family
  • General Conference
  • Hilarious quotes
  • Stars & 4-wheelers
Things that scare me:
  • Not passing the GRE/MAT
  • Not getting into grad school
  • Not doing what the Lord wants and needs me to do
  • Figuring out what to do with my life, trying to progress without knowing what to do next
  • Finding Mr. Right (sometimes scarier than being single – stolen from Kaylee)
  • Not finding Mr. Right
Things that encourage me:
  • The Gospel
  • My friends
  • My co-workers
  • My family
  • Quotes
  • Music
Things that overwhelm me:
  • Studying for the GRE
  • Trying to memorize everything with my new job
  • Thinking about the future and trying to figure everything out
  • Trying to be perfect
  • Boys
Things that relax me:
  • Talking with good friends
  • Actually studying the scriptures
  • Hot chocolate and sweat pants
  • Storms
  • Music
Things that I think about a lot lately:
  • The GRE and grad school
  • Boys (well, one really)
  • Paying my parents back for fixing my car
  • Deciding what computer to buy
  • Places I want to escape to (stolen from Kaylee)
  • Trying to be better than I am
  • Finally decorating our living room
  • Living up to expectations
  • Writing letters to missionaries

Updates Galore!

So, this post will be full of many exciting updates. Well, at least I hope you find them exciting :)

Rachel's engaged!!! Crazy, I know. I actually helped Josh propose the weekend before conference. It was gorgeous and adorable.  She's getting married December 28, which is so soon! I love her to death and am so excited for her :)

I have a new job! My old job ended last week (they decided if you're related to management you can't work there anymore - boo!) but, conveniently I just got a full time, yay! So far everyone's been extremely nice and very friendly and helpful. It's a ton of new information all at once, but it's starting to make sense. I also work with several girls who are a lot closer to my age, which is super fun.

In other news, Friday was a fabulous day :) It included waffles 4 wheeling, pool, stargazing, and hand holding . . . :D

General Conference this past weekend was amazing as usual. I seriously love being able to hear from our Prophet and Apostles. It went by so incredibly fast!

Pretty sure that's all that I've been up to as of late . . . at least that's important or exciting :)

So this is a little old . . .

Note: I started writing this about two weeks ago at work and never posted it . . . . my bad! This is a little out of date, so I'll write another hopefully today :)
I am a horrible blogger, I know. I've had things to blog about, but I just haven't been motivated to actually do it . . . .
So I'm pretty much addicted to pintrest, like way bad. It's horrible, but aweseome at the same time. I have so many ideas, just not the time, money, or people to do them with. Someday . . .

Loved this quote I found on Pintrest:
Atheism: the belief that there was nothing and nothinghappened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs. Makes perfect sense.
I saw that and just had to laugh :)
Someone just called trying to sell me a subscription to the Salt Lake Tribune. I tried telling them this was a business and we didn't want it, but they wouldn't take no. I finally transferred them to my boss who was on a call so they got a machine, ha :)

So my roommate Rachel is practically engaged. They've been ring shopping twice and have a wedding date already. She'll be the first of any of my roommates to get married, so it's all a bit strange. Rachel's been my only constant roommate all three years. I love her to death, and I'll miss her tons, but I suppose getting married is a pretty good thing to do.

I've recently discovered the cutest blog ever. It's called Young People in Love, and everything about it is adorable. If you want some cuteness in your day, go read it :)

Since I've been on the phones all week at work, I've had plenty of time to surf the web, namely pintrest. I'm quite obsessed, it's probably not good. But, I have so many good ideas it's insane.

I finished the curtains for our kitchen, and I must say they're pretty great. I'll have to post a picture when I get home.

This week has been pretty chill at our house, which is really nice. Wednesday night we went over to Mark's house and just talked. Paula, Mark and I sat on their deck and talked under the stars, which was so fun. I love having good conversations, they're seriously the best. Last night was so random, but so much fun. First we piled Daniel, Caleb, Andrew, Rachel, Mark and me into Daniel's car and then went through a car wash. The whole thing was just hilarious. We then went to Rumbi's for dinner, which with our coupon ended up being about $3 a person - win. After that we took Rachel and Andrew home and picked up Paula. We then all got into Mark's car and then went to a different car wash. We live an exciting life I tell you ;) We blasted music and had a dance party in the car wash. It was pretty sweet. We then all went to our house and played settlers of Catan. Random, like I said, but strangely awesome.

I had a job interview today, with a second one on Monday. We'll see how that goes.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Sydney over at The Daybook has what she calls 'Awkward and Awesome Thursday' where she tells all the reasons for the week why she's both awkward and awesome. Sydney is hilarious and has one of my favorite blogs to read. Here's my take on being awkward and awesome :)

Awkward
  • Answering the phone at work and having to ask three times who they wanted to speak to . . . enunciate people!
  • People who keep telling me good luck with school and then they feel weird when they find out I'm not in school and then that makes me feel weird and old and yeah . . .
  • Almost posting this with the word 'ear' where 'yeah' should have been
  • Not shaving your legs and having a boy touch them and inform you that you didn't shave today. Really? I had no idea!
  • Trying to match visitors at work with the pictures on their badges . . . if you had a beard in your picture it'd be greatly appreciated if you didn't shave ever. If you didn't have a beard, well your face is just gonna have to be naked for a while.  Also, please wear the same hat every time.
  • Leaving my front door open because it's hot and getting whistled at in my pajamas
  • My eight-year-old sister playing footsies with Mark . . . no, just no.
Awesome!
  • Boating . . . 'nuff said
  • Being able to blog at work :)
Having the Internet at my house! I will never take you for granted again dear Internet
  • Strawberry crepes, bacon, and orange Julius for dinner with an episode of Psych afterwards
  • Birthday treats at work
  • My fan named Oscar. Our house without air conditioning would be horrendous without you dear friend
  • Getting emails from Jordan where he says "(creepy eyebrow raise)" and being able to picture his facial expression exactly
  • Staying up late, doing absolutely nothing, and laughing at everything

End of Summer

I've been a terrible blogger this summer, I really have. It's not like I've been super busy either, I just haven't actually done it.  Here's a quick wrap of of my life recently, hopefully I get more consistent. That is if we ever get the Internet at our house.

The last few weeks we've been boating a tons, which is so much fun. I seriously love it so much. We got Elina up on the wake board and Heidi on skis, and the both loved it tons. We also took Daniel, Caleb and Todd (two different trips), which was tons of fun. Hopefully we'll go this week, and Mark'll be able to go with us.  We also played mud volleyball a couple weeks ago with my Dad's ward for FHE, which was awesome. Tons of clean up, but well worth it.  Steph and I went to a Parachute concert in Park City, which also had Michelle Branch and The Goo Goo Dolls. It was pretty sweet :)

On Sunday I went to my new ward for the first time, which was strange. I didn't know anyone! It's quite a strange feeling.  Plus our ward meets at 1:30, which is practically the worst time ever. I guess we'll never have an excuse to be late! After church I then drove to Prove to pick up Mark who was driving back from Kansas. I made it to Provo in an hour and fifty minutes, which I must say is pretty impressive :) The ride home was tons of fun. It was way good to actually see him and catch up on life.  When we hit about Ogden the little battery light started glowing in my car. My battery's only 1 1/2 years old, so it shouldn't be having any problems. We stopped at Angie's so Mark could say hi to his sister, and then I dropped him off at his other sister's apartment where all his stuff was. Sadly this is where my car died. Apparently the alternator is dead, which is just lovely. I'm pretty sure my car hates me. We've already put $1800 into it this year, it's getting a bit ridiculous. So I've been bumming rides off people this week, which makes me feel lame.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I moved out last week! I'm living with Elina, Stacy, Paula, Rachel, and another girl names Stacey I just met yesterday. So far it's been great. We didn't get electricity until Thursday or hot water until Friday, but it's been pretty good. We have tons of space, and Paula and I are working on making our little house adorable. Every thing's a little quirky and crooked, but it makes it all the more fun. My shower is super tiny though. I practically have to pull my knee to my face to shave. TMI, I know :)  I'm sharing a room with Elina, which actually used to be a garage. It has a sparkly popcorn ceiling that Cody is convinces is asbestos. We also have our own entrance to the outside, which is awesome. We don't have any air conditioning, which is a bit of a downer. Luckily my mom gave us a fan we named Oscar. He's a bit temperamental, but he's saving us from the heat.  Pictures will be posted when we get the Internet to our little house.

It's been a bit strange with school starting and I'm not going. People are talking about campus activities and classes and meeting people, but I'm not doing any of it. I feel so old!!! Right now I'm wishing I'd either taken another year to graduate, or was starting grad school right now. Is it sad I'm going through school with drawls? I'm a nerd, I know. I've always loved school, and it's all I've ever done, so I kinda feel a little lost right now. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out what I want to do with my life soon.

Dear Boys

Have any of you ever read Elise's Pieces? If not you should, she's adorable. We actually both know Nichelle over at Vintage Wannabee, but I've actually never met Elise. Sometimes I feel like I know people because I read their blogs, and then I feel creepy that I know things about them when I don't actually know them . . . . anyway, she does this hilarious thing on her blog called Dear Boys, where she writes little notes to the boys in her life, so I thought I'd give it a shot :)
